Friends of the agricultural schools

Friends of Agricultural Schools (JV) is a support association for NMS,
operating under a dedicated cooperation agreement. The board is composed
of former missionaries from Madagascar who work voluntarily.

NMS
NMS (The Norwegian Mission Society) is a voluntary organization rooted
in the Church of Norway, sharing the faith in Jesus, working to
eradicate poverty, and fighting injustice.
NMS has been active in Madagascar since the 1850's.

Tombontsoa
Agricultural school located in Antsirabe in the highlands of Madagascar. The school was established by NMS in 1965 and has trained thousands of agronomists. Approximately 400 students attend each year. The school is named after Tomb, a Norwegian agriculture school.
The school offers the following programs and courses:
3-year Green Gymnasium/High School
1-year course in agronomy focusing on crop and livestock production
3-year college degree, Bachelor's in Agronomy, Livestock Production, and Environmental Science
Course in poultry farming
2-year veterinary studies

Fihaonana
Agricultural school located in Vohipeno, southeastern Madagascar. The school was established by NMS in 1983 and has 30 staff members and around 150 students annually. The local population is among the poorest in Madagascar.
The school offers the following courses:
3-month courses in poultry farming, beekeeping, pig farming, and crop production
1-year agronomy course
1-year entrepreneurship course for unemployed academics
